Based in North Carolina, David Joyner is a pastor, educator, and church administrator who has spent much of his professional life serving congregations and faith communities. His work centers on spiritual leadership, mentoring clergy, and strengthening church organizations through thoughtful administration and pastoral care. Throughout his ministry across North Carolina, David Joyner has emphasized service, leadership development, and outreach to support both local congregations and the broader church community.

Since July 2021, David Joyner has served as senior pastor at First United Methodist Church in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. He provides spiritual leadership and administrative oversight for a congregation of more than 1,300 members. He guides the church’s mission and vision, supports the spiritual well-being of congregants, and manages staff teams that oversee worship, preschool programs, family ministries, and administrative operations.

Mr. Joyner has also been recognized for leadership development and service. He participated in the Thriving Rural Fellows program, sponsored by the Duke Endowment and Duke University, which focuses on strengthening rural congregations and communities.
